Ozone week is celebrated from 16th – 23rd September every year. Ozone day is held on September 16th since 1987 after signing of Montreal Protocol.
World Ozone Day is important because it is a day that is used for spreading awareness regarding the Ozone Layer’s depletion, as well as the search for solutions in order to preserve it. This day is celebrated to minimize the use of ozone depleting substances and pledge to use the organic products.
Eco-cops – “the home of eco-warriors” celebrated ozone week by organizing an online slogan writing competition. Members of eco- club of Uttaranchal University made creative slogans and depicted importance of ozone in our life.
The event was organized by Dr. Bharti Ramola, coordinator of the club with support of Mr. Shivam Pandey. The event was much appreciated by Dr. Ajay Singh, President of eco- club, who was very happy to see the creativity of the members of eco- club.
