Uttaranchal University IEEE Students’ Chapter & Department of Computer Science & Engineering organized a Webinar on “Data Science” for all the undergraduate students of UIT on October 20, 2020.
The Webinar commenced with the Welcome Note delivered by Ms. Madhu Kirola, Assistant Professor, CSE, UIT. She welcomed Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar, Director, UIT, Uttaranchal University, Guest Speaker Er. Gaurav Mandhyan, Senior Software Engineer, Softpro India Computer Technologies (P) Limited, faculty members of different departments and students. Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar told the attendees about the emerging trends in the field of technology such as data science and its associated domains like machine learning, data analytics and data mining. He also emphasized on the need of the experts of the same by the industry and urged the students to develop these skills by learning from professionals like the speaker of this webinar, Mr, Gaurav Mandhyan to which he assured to help the students in future.
Then Er. Gaurav took over the session and talked in detail about data science and its domains and current application-based implementations in the industry. He also gave hands-on on some of the specific tools that are currently being used in data-science based industry.
Moreover, He answered many queries of the attendees pertaining data science and its basics and also discussed upcoming opportunities through which students can build their career in the field of data science.
The event was successfully concluded with Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Minakshi Memoria. This guest lecture turned out to be a huge success with the support of Mr. Somil Kumar Gupta (Event coordinator- CSE) and Mr. Prashant Chaudhary (Assistant Professor- CSE).
