A Seminar on “Electoral List” was organized by the NSS Wing of the Uttaranchal University on 23rd October, 2018 in collaboration with the Office of District Magistrate/ District Election Officer. Hon’ble Chancellor and Vice Chancellor of the University inaugurated the program. Students from all the colleges of Uttaranchal University participated in the Seminar.
The representative team from the office of District Magistrate/ District Election Officer was headed by the BLO. They conveyed that as per the directions of the Election Commission of India the Electoral List for Assembly Elections (with photograph) has been published. With reference to the same, the Seminar aimed to spread awareness regarding the availability of different formats to be used for different specific requirements with the BLO. The BLO’s were asked to facilitate entry of the names of all the Indian Residents who will be attaining 18 years or more of age on 01-01-19 in the Electoral List. The team informed that various formats have included Format 6 (To enter name in Electoral List for Assembly Elections), Format 7 (To remove name from Electoral List for Assembly Elections), Format 8(To edit/correct entry in Electoral List or for issue of new Identity Card to replace the lost Identity Card) and Format 6(A) (To enter the name of Non-Resident Indians in Electoral List for Assembly Elections). They further informed that the entry of the names in Electoral List and the formats are free of cost. The BLO had invited the students of Uttaranchal University (who will be attaining 18 years or more of age on 01-01-19) to get their names entered straight away. They also conveyed that any of the above Formats could be filled and submitted immediately. The Seminar concluded with the information that all the above Formats are available and can be applied via www.nvsp.in
