National Youth Day 2016 Celebration

IMG_6003“National Youth Day” was celebrated in Uttaranchal University on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda’s 153rd birth anniversary. It is celebrated to inspire the youth of nation through the philosophy and ideals of Swamiji. Swami Vivekananda was the key figure in introducing Indian philosophies of ‘Vedanta’ and ‘Yoga’ to the western world. The event commenced with lamp lighting by the hon’ble Chancellor Mr. Jitender Joshi, Director, S.A. & I. T. Services, Dr. Abhishek Joshi and Director UIT. The event was attended by all Departmental heads and Faculty members and was organized by Prof.N.K.Joshi.

After the Inauguration Prof N.K.Joshi gave a presentation on the life and teachings of Swamiji. He began with Vivekananda’s preachings on ‘Way to success’, followed by the ideas of Vivekananda on various topics like education, thoughts action etc. He also quoted that the concept of education should be in such a way that it strengthens our mind, by which character is formed and help us stand in our own feet. He also reminded us about the qualities of a good teacher through the words of Swamiji. The presentation ended with an inspiring quote stating “Arise, Awake and Stop not till the goal is reached’.

Hon’ble Chancellor Mr. Jitender Joshi, in his speech said that the youth of today is the driving force of tomorrow. Every individual should realize their responsibility towards the nation and work for it.  Dr. Abhishek Joshi stated that the Youths are the most important part of the country who leads the country ahead, that is why youths are selected to be inspired first by the ideas and ideals of the Swami Vivekananda. It is the great way to wake up the eternal energy of the youths as well as their big efforts to make the country developed.
