Marketing Club ‘Srujana’ of Uttaranchal Institute of Management organizes “Marketing Quiz”

Marketing Club ‘Srujana’ organized an activity for the students of Management and IT entitled “Marketing Quiz” and conducted its Final Round on 28th February, 2019. The activity was organized and executed by Mr. Shivendra Singh Chaudhary, (Head – Marketing Club) Dr. Diksha Panwar, Ms. Shailee Parmar& Ms. Kanika Singhal (Members – Marketing Club). Dr. Pradeep Suri, Director-UIM, graced the event with his benign presence and encouraged the teams to compete with zest and understanding of the rounds.

The main objective of the activity was to make the students think from different angles or simply ‘to think out-of-the-box’. It was designed to promote a fun way to study and in the process help improve one’s general knowledge. It helped students to get into the habit of innovative learning since questions were based out-of-syllabus and required critical thinking and extensive research. It also helped to foster team building tactics as the activity called for a team exercise.

The activity was divided into various levels after an Aptitude Test (Screening Round) was conducted to form teams. Ten teams competed with each other in three levels whose brief is mentioned below:
Level 1: This level was based on identifying business logos, taglines/slogans & famous business personalities. Teams competed in pairs. A total of eight teams got selected for the next level.
Level 2: This level was based on identifying partial business logos, guess the prices of consumer durables & consumer electronics (referring source was Flipkart) & identify the brand from the ad jingles. It was a buzzer round. Total six teams were selected for the final stage, i.e., Level 3.
Level 3 (Final Round): Marketing Club’s endeavor is to make its activities interesting, innovative and challenging. So the last level was divided into three parts: Spin the Wheel, Crossword Puzzle & Treasure Hunt. Teams were given Rs 100 each to start with. Through the rounds they had to earn more money, buy products & win by completing Treasure Hunt in stipulated time period. Team left with higher amount in terms of cash and product value won followed by a Runner up Team.

First Runner Up: Team B [Shubham Sharma, Mohd. Robin &Atul Rajak – B.Sc.(IT) II Sem]
Second Runner Up: Team A [Prashant Bijlwan – B.Sc. (IT) II Sem, Ankit Thapliyal, Kanika Pahwa & Priya Maurya – MBA II A)
