Law College Dehradun girls participated in the debate held on “Violence against Women”. This Debate involved serious discussion, among the experts from various fields, on the atrocities being committed on women and the legal hurdles in getting justice for them. The students of Law College Dehradun suggested different ways of empowering the women and threw light on the laws framed to protect women’s rights. The other speakers raised pertinent questions on women security and their fight against parochial Indian society.
The event was part of the Two Day Women Film Festival which started in Dehradun from 28 March, 2014. The festival is screening films and documentaries based on women empowerment made by well known film producers.
