Law College Dehradun presented a documentary on the auspicious occasion of “World Environment Day”, under the aegis of Vasundhara- The Green Society, on 5th June 2021, on the theme ‘Ecosystem Restoration’. The documentary was a tribute to the Environment and the Mother Nature for providing us with everything that is needed for survival of every human being.
Prof. (Dr.) Devendra Pathak, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Uttaranchal University, was the Chief Guest of this marvellous occasion. Keeping our culture alive the Chief Guest was welcomed by Dr. Lakshmi Priya Vinjamuri, the Chairperson of the society. The hon’ble Guest averred valuable information on the ways to protect our environment and restoration of Environment. He also discussed the role of the National Green Tribunal and its working in order to preserve the environment.
Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna, Dean – Law College Dehradun, welcomed the luminaries and stated his views on dense forestation and plantation. He also spoke on the ways to restore the environment beginning firstly from our own state Uttarakhand and insisted that everyone should show care and respect for the environment and opined that it’s time to return what nature has provided us.
The documentary was then released by Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna. It was a short video film designed by the members of the society and covered all the parts of environment, be it plating trees, grazing animals, providing information on depletion of ozone layer and its causes. The short documentary almost covered everything.
At last the Chairperson of the Society Dr. Lakshmi Priya Vinjyamuri thanked the dignitaries and the entire team of Vasundhara- The Green Society for presenting such a knowledgeable and heart warming video film on such an important day. The event was brought to an end by Ms. Ishita Baghel, President of the society, after formally delivering the Vote of Thanks.
The documentary was a small tribute from Vasundhara- The Green Society towards the environment. It is time for everyone to wake up and pay some attention towards the environment, its preservation and protection.
