Law College Dehradun organized ‘Connaitre – 2021’ under the aegis of Youth Parliament Society (YPS) exclusively for the students of LCD. This training session intended to educate the students on tactics, procedures and simulations of MUN’s (Model United Nations) and YP’s (Youth Parliaments). The program was conducted in two-pronged sessions which were held on 15th May, 2021 and 16th May, 2021 for YP and MUN respectively. The session was initiated and taken forward under the able guidance and leadership of Dr. Razit Sharma (Chairperson) and the President Mr. Abhijeet Kashyap. The event received an overwhelming response from the students, which was reflected in the number of registrations for the same. During both the sessions the students were informed about different procedures and segments of MUN Conferences and YP’s where the speakers put forth the fundamentals of the same and upskilled the students.
DAY 1:
The first session of Connaître was conducted on 15th May, 2021 which went exceptionally well with the participation of 80+ students. The moderator of the session was Mr. Ashutosh Raturi, who with his skills and confidence thoroughly moderated the session and made sure the smooth sailing of the event. Ms. Sonali Jayara and Mr. Sourabh Kumar threw light on the importance, purposes and benefits of participating in Youth Parliaments. The session proceeded wherein the students were briefed about the procedures, simulation and segments of YP’s. The students had their doubts clarified in the closing of the session and the team received awe-inspiring feedback from the audience.
DAY 2:
The second session of Connaître conducted on 16th May 2021, was all about educating the audiences about Model United Nations. The moderation of the event was done by Ms. Somya Singh whose amiable approach hooked the audience. Ms. Niharika Jha and Ms. Saakshi Suneja briefed the students on the modus operandi of an MUN and on the various aspects like, benefits (such as confidence building, skill development, reduction of stage fear), purposes and importance of actively participating in an MUN Conference. The audience was enthralled by the knowledge they incurred from the speakers and the session ended with a brief query session.
