Law College Dehradun, Faculty of Uttaranchal University, organised a seminar on “Mental Health begins from you”, on 12 March 2022 to celebrate International Women’s Day, under the aegis of Women Cell of Law College Dehradun. The Chief Guest and distinguished speaker of the day was Dr Veena Teja, MD Psychiatry from Mahant Indresh hospital. The event began with the felicitation of the guest by Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean of Law College Dehradun, followed by a lamp lighting ceremony and University Kulgeet.
At the outset, Prof Rajesh Bahuguna, rendered his welcome address and then introduced the keynote speaker to the gathering and elucidated the importance of the topic. This was eventually continued by the technical session, where the speaker explained lucidly the signs of lack of mental health and the necessary actions to be taken to overcome the stigma. Her captivating speech encouraged the students to come up with various queries for which a convincing explanation was given. The event ended with warm words of gratitude by the Chairperson of the Women Cell, Dr V Bhuvaneswari, followed by the National Anthem. The event was handled efficiently by Ms Manika Joshi and Tanvi Jindal, the student coordinators.
Present on the occasion were Dean Law College Dehradun Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Prof Poonam Rawat, members of Women Cell, faculty members and students of Law College Dehradun.
