An Industrial Visit to ‘Himalaya Drug Company’, Clement Town, Dehradun was organized by Uttaranchal College of Applied & Life Sciences (SALS) on 7th December, 2017 for the students of M.Sc. (IC) (I &II Semester) and M.Sc. Chemistry (I Semester).
About 40 students along with faculty members departed for Himalaya Drug Company by Uttaranchal University Bus, which was arranged with the support of Deputy Registrar Mr. Manoj Dhyani. Students were accompanied by their Coordinator Dr. Naveen Kumar and Mr. Vinod Joshi. The correspondence was initiated and successfully coordinated with Dr. S. Farooq, President- Himalaya Drug Company by Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, Principal- SALS.
The visit included the overview of the company’s production outlay with specific emphasis on the technical aspects like production and compression. The students also visited the Analytical, Tissue Culture and Pharmacognosy Laboratory, Herbal Garden and Museum. The students demonstrated their curiosity through their queries directed to the Site Engineer. The Site Engineer was overwhelmed with their reactions and honored their queries. This Industrial Visit proved to be highly informative and successful.
