II Year Mechanical Engineering students of Uttaranchal University conduct an Awareness Campaign on ‘Corona Virus’ while staying at home

Students of II Year B. Tech. (Mechanical Engineering), Uttaranchal University launched an Awareness Campaign on ‘Corona Virus’ on 22nd April, 2020. Student Group comprising of Sneha Gupta, Deepak Gariya, Akash Singh, Ankit Singh, Yash Bhushan, Satyam Khanna, Shivam Butola and Sumit Joshi, while staying at home, connected online and got united through social media groups and jointly put a series of posters on social media to make the general public aware about the deadly disease.

The Second Year Students guided by their Faculty Coordinator Ms. Ruby Pant (Assistant Professor, ME) took the initiative to spread awareness about how important it is to stay indoors adopting social distancing, washing hands frequently and taking appropriate safety precautions in the present emergency scenario.

Hon’ble Chancellor Shri. Jitender Joshi and Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi appreciated the step of the students and stated that such an online campaign is necessary to educate people about the disease and combat it by encouraging people to stay indoors.They appreciated all the Faculty Members and students for keeping their studies in continuation by participating in digital platforms – online e-classes using e-learning facilities.

Director – UIT Dr. Muneesh Sethi advised the students to be in regular touch with their Faculty Members & fully participate in ongoing online e-classes programme underway being conducted by the University.

Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Joshi, Head – ME, detailed about the awareness program which focussed on the nature, communicability and lethal effect of the disease as there is no treatment of Covid – 19.
