Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Uttaranchal University organized a Guest Lecture on Scope of Pharmacy Education for students pursuing B Pharm on 30th September 2021.
The event was initiated with the inaugural address by Dean-UIPS, Prof (Dr) Vikash Jakhmola highlighting the significance of Pharmacy with the felicitation of the Guest speaker Mr Ashish Uniyal who is Chair, Production Manager in Sharon Bio Medicine Ltd. Dehradun.
The main aim of the guest lecture was to make the student’s awareness about the career opportunities in Pharmacy Education including the identified gaps. The students were also informed regarding the varied skills and attributes required in a Pharmacy professional to succeed in the fast changing Pharmaceutical Sector. Various new allied sectors of Pharmacy that have grown tremendously in recent days like Pharmacovigilance, Medical writing and IPR were also enlisted. Many career-myths and career-mistakes were also addressed in the event. The speaker also emphasized on the importance of the right mix of knowledge, attitude and additional skills for a successful career. The discussion provided to the students a platform for sharing their thoughts and was endowed with proper guidance regarding each and every aspect of career. The speaker stressed on the fact that a good plan is always required achieving the goals.
The event concluded with vote of thanks and was graced with the presence of Dr Amit Semwal (HOD), Dr Ankit Sharma, Mrs Taru Saklani, Mrs Jyotsana Suyal, Mrs Alka Singh, Ms Shalu Verma, Mr Ravi Kumar and other faculty member of the department.
The event was organized by the ‘Pharmaceutics Club’ under the guidance of faculty coordinator Dr Tarun Parashar. Student club Co-ordinators Nupur Jha, Rakshit Gupta, Vanshika Khare and Ritesh Jha actively coordinated the event with full dedication.
