Department of Computer Applications, Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University, Dehradun organised an e-Guest Lecture on Digital Forensic on 29th September, 2021 in UIM Seminar Hall for the first year students of BCA and B Sc (IT) programmes under Orientation Week.
The key Resource person was Mr Tarun Sharma, a Digital Forensic Analyst who uses different investigative methods to find electronic evidence from various electronic devices. He is famous for hunting various files and information that are hidden or have been deleted on various electronic devices using his technical skills, and can evaluate the extracted evidence.
Master of Ceremony, Mr Ishteyaaq Ahmad welcomed the resource person, all the dignitaries, members of faculty and all present students. He introduced the topic of the day and the guest speaker to the audience.
The resource person, Mr Tarun Sharma informed students about Cyber Crime and its types. Mr Sharma emphasized on Digital Evidence. His edifying delivery encapsulated all functional levels of Cyber Forensics Steps in detail. His lecture was followed by question and answer sessions, where he answered several interesting questions asked by first year students of BCA and B Sc (IT) programmes.
This Guest Lecture turned out to be a huge success with the support of Mr Abhishek Kumar Pathak, Cultural & Academic In-Charge, Mr Anoop Negi, Registrar, UIM and Mr Anand Rawat, Lab In-charge, UIM. The event was graced by Dr Sonal Sharma, HOD-IT and other faculty members of the Department. Mr Sameer Sharma, Assistant Professor, UIM was the event coordinator.
