Globe Club of Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University, organized a Poster Making Competition on 2nd February 2021 to celebrate ‘World Wetlands Day’. The theme for the competition was taken from the official theme for World Wetlands Day 2021, ‘Wetlands and Water’. The event was headed by Mr. Rohit Dhiman, Head – Globe Club under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.)Pradeep Suri, Dean-UIM.
The aim of event was to raise awareness among students about the value of wetlands for humanity and for the sustainable ecological balance. Mr. Abhishek Kumar Pathak, Head- Cultural & Academic Affairs hosted the event. Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri addressed the students by emphasizing on the conservation of wetlands and the natural forests for the future. Prof. (Dr.) Amitabh Bhargava and Prof. (Dr.) Sonal Sharma formed the esteemed jury of the competition.
The participants were judged on the basis of explanation, message given, neatness, color combination and overall appearance. 19 students participated in the Poster Making Competition. It was a successful event by the joint contribution of Mr. Rohit Dhiman, Ms. Shaliee Parmar and Dr. Sangeeta Sundriyal.
Winners of the event were as follows:
Winner: Mr. Vasu Kalra, Mr. Prince Rana, Ms. Prerna Chauhan [B.Com. (Hons.) – I Year]
First Runner Up: Mr. Akash Rao, Ms. Aarti Jangra, Ms. Ayushi Badoni [B.Com. (Hons.) – I Year]
Eventually the event came to an end with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Rohit Dhiman.
