GLOBE Club of Uttaranchal Institute of Management conducts ‘Poster Making Competition’ on “No Vehicle Day”

GLOBE (Global Learning & Observation to Benefit the Environment) Club of Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University, conducted Poster Making Competition on “No Vehicle Day” on 30th January 2019.

“No Vehicle Day” Campaign was aimed to make people understand the importance of environmental protection and be mindful about saving energy. The basic objective was to create awareness among the public regarding reducing traffic congestion, saving energy, controlling pollution and curbing global warming. People were requested to give their two and four-wheelers a miss for the day and opt for walk and bicycles.

With an intention to save limited natural resources, Globe Club of Uttaranchal Institute of Management organized Poster Making Competition on “No Vehicle Day” for the students of Uttaranchal Institute of Management.

Director – UIM, Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri, HOD (Management) Dr. Anshul Sharma and HOD (IT) Dr. Sonal Sharma, graced the noble occasion with their presence. This activity was pursued by the Head of Globe Club, Dr. Mamta Bansal along with support from Mr. Ravindra Singh Rawat (Cultural & Academic In-charge) and the Faculty Members of the Globe Club, Ms. Pooja Gupta, Ms. Kanika Singhal, Ms. Prabhjot Kaur , Mr. Rohit Dhiman and Dr. Diksha Panwar.

The activity was conducted in three stages:

  • In the First Stage, the student participants submitted their posters, relevant to the theme, on or before 25 January 2019.
  • In the Second Stage, the winners were selected by the eminent jury from UIM.
  • The activity concluded with its final stage comprising of an awareness walk in the university campus led by the Winner Team.

The eminent jury for the event included Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri [Director – UIM], Dr. Anshul Sharma [HOD (Management)], Dr. Sonal Sharma [HOD (IT)] and Mr. Ravindra Singh Rawat [Cultural & Academic In-charge].

Three teams were selected out of five who developed and presented the best innovation strategy to the judges. The winners were as follows:

Such noble drives and activities help strengthen the students’ emotional health and ignite a feeling of compassion amongst them.
