The Gear up and dance competition was held recently UIM to offer opportunity to the students to showcase their talent in dancing. Students who have the dancing talent participated enthusiastically.
The event was well organized and executed meticulously. There were two rounds in the selection process, comprising Screening and Final Rounds. The Screening round went on for six days. Each day was fixed for separate genres, i.e. Contemporary, Bollywood free style, Belly, Classical, Hip-Hop and Locking and Popping. Students in the screening round were judged for dance movements, expressions and were allowed to bring their own tracks.
The final round was held on September 24. The students selected from the screening round competed for entry into the final round. Criteria for selection in this round were Dance Moves, Expression, Confidence and Costumes. Participants were free to dance on their choice of genres. The event was a fun filled but the competition was tough as every participant added an element of novelty and excitement to the event. The competition was judged by the panel of experts.
