Educational Tour organized by School of Applied and Life Sciences

An Educational Tour to ONGC Museum was organized on 13th October, 2017 for the 3rd and 5th Semester students of B.Sc.(Hons.) Mathematics by School of Applied and Life Sciences. The tour was organized by the faculty members of the Department of Mathematics comprising Dr. V.K Srivastava (Head –Department of Mathematics), Dr. Ajay Kumar, Ms. Dipika Saxena and Dr. Shalu Choudhary.

The students visited the ONGC Museum and were surprised to see a pendulum moving in clockwise direction. They were informed that the movement of the pendulum was based on the motion of the earth. After taking a comprehensive round of the museum the students proceeded to see a short movie based on the discovery of crude oil, their extraction from the earth core and the different ways in which we use hydrocarbons in our daily life. In the last lap of the tour the students visited a palace where varied spheres like remote sensing, geographical exploration, seismic exploration and historical perspectives were illustrated.
