Department of Physics organized a 7 day Faculty Development Programme on the topic “Optoelectronics Devices and their Applications” from 24-30 December, 2019. Dr. Vikas Tayal, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, Harsh Vidhya Mandir P.G College Raisi, Haridwar and Dr Gunjan Purohit, Assosiate Professor, Department of Physics, DAV PG College Dehradun were the Resource Person.
Dr. Vikas Tayal started the programme by imparting information on modeling concept of optoelectronics devices and their applications. He gave different research based ideas for developing optical fiber, Semiconductor laser and different LED’s. Later on Dr. Gunjan Purohit gave his talk on fiber laser and their industrial applications. Dr B.S Rawat and Mr. Prateek Uniyal also participated and presented different innovative topics viz. the increasing role of Photonics Devices like LED’s, Organics LED’s, Fiber Laser and optical communication. The FDP was attended by 30 participants.
Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. B.S Rawat (H.O.D. Physics, SALS) in which sincere gratitude was expressed towards Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Jitender Joshi for extending his kind support and encouragement for organizing the programee. Respected Vice Chancellor, Uttaranchal University and Principal – SALS were also thanked for their valuable presence. The Programme was co-ordinated by Dr. Sunita Singh, Mr. Prateek Uniyal, Dr. Balendra Pratap Singh and Ms. Kavita Pandey.
