Department of Mechanical Engineering celebrates ‘Children’s Day’ in nearby Primary Schools by donating education facilitating packets

14th November – a day marking childhood is celebrated in India as a tribute to Jawaharlal Nehru, who was born on November 14, 1889. Jawaharlal Nehru, who was fondly called Chacha Nehru or simply Chachaji, was known for his love for children.

Identifying with the fact that “Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow” and believing that “Only through right education can a better order of society be built up” the students and faculty of the Department of Mechanical Engineering endeavored to make this Children’s Day special and memorable for the underprivileged students of nearby primary school and slum area.

Guided by the spirit of the saying “We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone” the Department made a humble effort and distributed education facilitating packets consisting of copies, writing materials and snacks to the school going primary students of the nearby village and slum dwelling children. The endeavor bought smile on the faces of children and the effort was appreciated by the school teachers.

Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Jitender Joshi & Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.K Joshi appreciated the students, Faculty Members & Technical Staff for the event. Mr. Sanjeev Kr. Joshi, Head – Department of Mechanical Engineering, applauded the effort of the students and faculty.

This activity was initiated by Ms. Shivani Pande and was supported by Ms. Ruby Pant, Mr Avnish Kumar, Mr. Vivek John along with Techanical Staff Mr. Mahinder Bisht, Mr. Manohar Singh, Mr Amit Rawat and Mr. Rewat Rawat.
