Department of Food Technology initiates the celebration of “National Nutrition Week” with the establishment of ‘Food Tech Club’ and release of the Schedule of Events

Department of Food Technology under the aegis of Uttaranchal College of Applied & Life Sciences initiated the celebration of “National Nutrition Week” (1st -7th September, 2018) with the establishment of ‘Food Tech Club’ and release of the Schedule of Events.

Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Jitender Joshi and Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi blessed the students on the occasion of ‘National Nutrition Week’.

Principal-SALS and President of the newly formed ‘Food Tech Club’ Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh congratulated the students on formation of the Club. He stated that the aim of the Club was to inculcate within students a healthy lifestyle and develop new arenas of Food Preservation and Food Products.

The Inaugural Ceremony was witnessed by Prof.(Dr.) Ajay Singh (Principal-SALS), Dr. V.K. Srivastava (Head – Department of Mathematics), Dr. Shuchi Upadhyay (Head – Department of Food Technology), Dr. Bharti Ramola, Dr. Richa Badola, Ms. Deepka Kohli, Ms. Bindu Naik, Mr. Mahipal Singh Tomer, Ms. Indra Rautela along with a large number of students. The event was organized by Dr Shuchi Upadhyay Tiwari (Head – Department of Food Technology and Secretary – ‘Food Tech Club’).

The Schedule of Events released for the observance of ‘National Nutrition Week’ was as follows:

4th September, 2018 – Essay Writing Competition (Topic: “Processed Food and Nutrition”)
5th September, 2018 – Poster Competition (Topic: “Processed Food and Nutrition”)
6th September, 2018 – BMI and Weight Management Fair
