Department of communication organized an Industrial Visit to the Printing Press of Amar Ujala

Department of communication organized an Industrial Visit to the Printing Press of Amar Ujala in Dehradun on 28th January 2019. All the students of BAJMC 1st Year visited the organization. This visit was mainly focused towards exposure of the working of the Editorial Department. The students got the golden opportunity to become a part of Amar Ujala’s “Aparajita: 100 Million Smiles” Campaign. The entire visit was coordinated by Mr. Aftab, City Desk Head and Mr. Anil Chandola of Amar Ujala, Dehradun.

Mr. Aftab informed about the different departments and their respective roles in a print news organization. He told about the working style of the entire newspaper’s Editorial Department. Later he told about the work of Editors, Sub Editors and Reporters. A discussion was also conducted on how to make an event newsworthy. Students interacted and raised their queries which were aptly answered.

Amar Ujala is running ‘Aparajita: 100 Million Smiles” Campaign with the objective of spreading awareness regarding women empowerment in our country. Under this campaign students got a chance to become representatives of Amar Ujala for one day in order to help the organization in spreading more and more awareness amongst people. Students were assigned their duties to observe the event that was scheduled to take place on January 30, 2019.

The visit was supervised by Ms. Smriti Uniyal (Assistant Professor) & Mr.Ved Prakash (Assistant Professor) of Depatment of Communication.
