Department of communication organized a two-day Educational Tour to Kanatal (Tehri-Garhwal, Uttarakhand) on 16th & 17th March, 2019. The trip exposed the students to varied activities like Landscape Photography, Nature Photography, Photo Walk, Trekking, Rural Reporting, Camping and the like. The visit was conducted by the Faculty Members of Department of Communication and the Teachers In-Charge were Dr. Mukesh Bora (Head- Department of Communication and Ms. Smriti Uniyal (Assistant Professor, Department of Communication) .
On the First Day the students experienced an energetic and thrilling ‘Jungle Safari’ followed by a Lecture on ‘Nature and Landscape Photography’. The next activity on schedule was ‘Photowalk’ which was guided by the Faculty Members. Photowalk was followed by some recreational activities. In the evening the students visited and explored the villages to understand the conditions, lifestyle and communication patters of people living in Himalayan Villages of Kaudiya Range, Kanatal. The day concluded with camping and bonfire, wherein different aspects of village life were discussed.
On the Second Day the students trekked to the Temple of Surkunda Devi where they found themselves surrounded by the beauty of nature. Through this trip the students were exposed to a different lifestyle and culture. They worshipped Surkunda Devi and on their way back bought souvenirs. This trip taught the students the value of team work and unity along with the practicalities of photography, reporting & exploring.
