Uttaranchal University senior students staged a street play to create awareness among the students against menace of ragging in educational institutions. The students took enthusiastic part in playing the different characters to highlight the physical and psychological trauma the new students go through in the process of ragging. Some incidents that come in the definition of ragging were high lighted through songs and actions.
A large crowd of students and faculty thronged the venue to watch the play. The esteemed chancellor Mr. Jitender Joshi, the Vice Chancellor and the other officials of the university also witnessed the play. They congratulated the participants for their thoughtfulness in dealing with such sensitive issues.
The new entrants to the university are certainly feeling assured that they will have a cordial relationship with their seniors. As the new academic session has commenced, the campus is pulsating with excitement of the new students and the seniors.
