A Hospital Visit organized by Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Uttaranchal University organized a hospital visit to State Mental Health Institute, Selaqui, Dehradunon 11April, 2022 for the students of D Pharm. The objective of the visit was to expose the students to real hospital working. The hospital visit provides the required exposure to the students and also gives a practical edge which helps the students to understand the theoretical aspects accurately. A proper balance of theoretical and practical exposure transforms the student of today to form tomorrow’s competent professional.

Mr C L Bhatt, Chief Pharmacist, welcomed the students and told them about the hospital working which covered all the important parts like OPD, IPD, Emergency ward and dispensary. It was an enriching experience for students as they explored the work culture of the hospital. Dr. Ravindra Nawani, senior psychiatrist also gave a talk about mental and social health. After that, talk was ended with Q&A session. Students termed the visit as a real-life learning experience of the Hospital. The students realized the importance of their academic pedagogy as they could relate and transfer their theoretical knowledge to practical implication.

The visit was conceptualized by Prof (Dr) Vikash Jakhmola, Dean UIPS and Coordinated by Mr Praveen Semwal, Lecturer, UIPS and Ms Mansi Butola, Assistant Professor, UIPS. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr Praveen Semwal, Lecturer, UIPS, Uttaranchal University.
