Legal Aid Centre, Law College Dehradun, Uttaranchal University under the joint aegis of Law College Dehradun and the National Cadet Corps celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas on 26th July 2022. This day is to mark the victory of India over Pakistan in the famous Kargil war. The day honors the Kargil war heroes and the sacrifices made by them. In the Kargil war that took place from May 1999 to July 1999, 527 Indian soldiers died while on the Pakistan side, the death toll was between 357 and 453. The Indian army declared India’s victory on July 26, 1999, and Henceforth, the day came to be celebrated as Kargil Vijay Diwas.
The event was witnessed by the students, faculty members of Law College Dehradun, and faculty members of all the other colleges of Uttaranchal University. The event started with the gracious presence of Shri Jitender Joshi, Chancellor and Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice-Chancellor. The NCC Cadets escorted them to the Shaurya Diwar. It was followed by the speech by Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean Law College Dehradun.Dr Bahuguna talked about various Kargil heroes and reminded all the people who were present, of their braveness, courage, and nationalistic mindset.

The whole event was covered by Amar Ujala. Various slogans of the Kargil Heroes were chanted. At the end of the event, Shradhanjali was given by offering the flowers on the Shahid Smarak by the Chancellor, the Vice-Chancellor, Pro Vice-Chancellor followed by the faculty members and the students.
