Uttaranchal University celebrated the 19th Anniversary of ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’ under the aegis of Law College Dehradun on 26th July, 2018 at The Wall of Heroes in the University. This was to pay homage to the brave souls who laid down their lives for India’s victory during the Kargil War in the year 1999. Dr. Abhishek Joshi, Director, Student Affairs and IT Services, was present as the Chief Guest and the tone of the Commemoration Ceremony was rightly set by Prof.(Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna, Principal & Dean of Law College Dehradun. He in his speech quoted that “Today is the day to pay homage to the valiant soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the 60 day conflict between India and Pakistan to save the territorial integrity of the nation”. He also shared some reminiscence, which made the crowd emotional as they grasped the details of ‘Operation Vijay’. Following this, floral tribute was paid to the martyrs by Dr. Abhishek Joshi, followed by all the officials and Faculty Members of the University. The event culminated with the recital of the National Anthem.
