Bachelor of Operation Theatre Technology (BOTT)

An operation theatre (OT) technologist is an essential component. Operating theatre technology training is required to become a trained professional.  An OTT, or Operation Theatre Technician, is a healthcare worker who assists in the preparation and maintenance of operating rooms and equipment. It’s a support function that entails assisting the surgical and anaesthesia teams during operations. An OTT is responsible for Assist surgeons within an operating room, maintain and prepare an operating room for operations, set up instrument trolleys for surgeries, clean and disinfect surgical equipment after surgeries, handle and transport patients to wards and recovery rooms after surgeries

Career Prospects:

This curriculum prepares candidates to work as a competent, dependable technologist in the operating room alongside other members of a health-care team, under the supervision and guidance of senior doctors and technical personnel in the delivery of patient care. After the completion of the course the candidate can progress from OT Technician, Senior OT Technician, OT In-charge, Department Manager/Floor Manager in his/her career path in multi-speciality and super speciality hospitals at National and Global hospitals.

Admission Procedure:
  • Admission is based on merit computed on the basis of marks secured in qualifying examination. University also conducts interviews of all applicants before admitting the eligible candidates.
  • Out of the total intake, 40% seats are allotted to students of Uttarakhand under the State Quota and the rest are open to students from All India. In case the allotted percentage of seats of State Quota remains vacant, it will be filled by All India students.
