Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning (AI &ML) relates to the field of computer science and helps in making the intelligent systems or machines that can simulate the human behaviour, their thinking capability. It works either on the basis of data without or with the explicitly designed program or machine algorithm. Few examples where AI is used are online Game playing, customer support using catboats, robot, intelligent humanoid, Siri, work on artificial intelligence. Machine learning works on the information extracted from data and it is considered as subfield of artificial intelligence. ML is used or predictions or in decision making based on the past data, for example, online recommendations, picture detections, search engine algorithm, auto-friend tagging suggestions etc. Realizing the importance of the field and its wide application in today’s world business, Uttaranchal University offers specialization in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI&ML) to students enrolled in computer science engineering program.

In order to communicate with machines, students would first learn the machine’s special language. As a result, students are taught the languages that can be entered into the machine during the programme. The program covers a variety of computer languages, including JAVA and Python. Students will also gain a thorough understanding of machine learning and artificial intelligence through solving real-world issues in a range of application domains, such as Robotic Intelligence & Design, Machine Learning on Databases, Computer Aided drivers, Computer vision, Natural Language Processing and so on. Students will gain knowledge of the machine learning pipeline, as well as data, models, algorithms, and empirical research.

AI&ML has a fantastic job option. According to recent analysis, Machine Learning Engineer is the best career in terms of pay, job growth, and overall demand. There are several job paths to select from within the sector. After having background in AI&ML, one can work as a Machine Learning Engineer, Data Scientist, NLP Scientist, Business Intelligence Developer, or Human-Centered Machine Learning Designer.

Eligibility:	Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Computer Science/Electronics/Information Technology/ Biology/ Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/Entrepreneurship. Minimum 50% marks for general and 45% in case of SC/ST category. For Lateral Entry Passed 3 years Diploma in Engineering/ 2 years Diploma in Engineering (Lateral Entry)/B.Sc. with PCM Examination. Minimum 60% marks in case of general category; 55% marks in case of SC/ST category

Admission Procedure:	Admission is based on merit, computed on the basis of marks secured in JEE (Main) / All National Aptitude Tests/Qualifying Examination/Performance of candidates in personal interview. Out of the total intake, 40% seats are allotted to students of Uttarakhand under the State Quota and the rest are open to students from All India. In case the allotted percentage of seats of State Quota remains vacant, it will be filled by All India students.
