B.Sc. in Medical Radiography & Imaging Technology is the health profession dealing with the direct administration of radiation. The term “diagnostic radiography” is used to describe a variety of radiographic or x-ray examinations. These simple procedures of Radiology and Imaging Technology make it possible to study organs that otherwise cannot be seen.

Uttaranchal College of Paramedical Sciences, Uttaranchal University offers excellent clinical practice for aspiring radio-imaging technologists with facilities like digital radiography, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging. Radiologic Technologists are qualified healthcare professionals who have knowledge of radiation protection and safety and perform various diagnostic imaging examinations like X-Rays, Mammography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Bone Density, Radiation Therapy, Ultrasonography, and Computed Tomography. Students will be trained in various areas such as Biomedical Engineering, Medical Radiation Physics, Radiation Therapy, and Nuclear Medicine.

The need for professional radiology technologists in hospitals, clinics, and physicians’ offices is increasing continuously. The field of radiography will continue with higher job growth into the future. After completing the degree in this field students will become Radiologist (MD), Radiology Technologists/ Radiographer, Radiology Technicians, Ultrasound Technician/ Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, MRI Technician, CT Tech/ CAT Scan Technologist/ CT Scan Technologist. There are well-paid jobs for radiologists. Mostly, radiologists are required in hospitals.

Admission Procedure:
  • Admission is based on merit computed on the basis of marks secured in qualifying examination. University also conducts interviews of all applicants before admitting the eligible candidates.
  • Out of the total intake, 40% seats are allotted to students of Uttarakhand under the State Quota and the rest are open to students from All India. In case the allotted percentage of seats of State Quota remains vacant, it will be filled by All India students.
