MA Journalism & Mass Communication (MAJMC)

MAJMC with specialization in Digital Journalism/TV Production & Film Making/Advertising & Public Relations/ Development Communication in School of Media and Communication Studies aims to provide quality media education with focus on producing skilled and industry oriented human resource and encourage media entrepreneurship in the field of Mass Communication. It has a specialized course curriculum which incorporates varied aspects of Journalism & Mass Communication. The program has a research-oriented curriculum which aims to explore the potential of research in different dimensions of Journalism & Mass Communication.

A student with MA in Journalism & Mass Communication can aspire for varied avenues in the field of Journalism (Print, Electronic & Digital), Event Management, Media Entrepreneurship and the like. Admission Procedure:
  • Admission is based on merit computed on the basis of marks secured in qualifying examination. University also conducts interviews of all applicants before admitting the eligible candidates.
  • Out of the total intake, 40% seats are allotted to students of Uttarakhand under the State Quota and the rest are open to students from All India. In case the allotted percentage of seats of State Quota remains vacant, it will be filled by All India students.
