M.Tech. Computer Science & Engineering

Department of Computer Science & Engineering offers various courses to the students as a platform to explore the practical and theoretical knowledge of computer hardware and software and research associated in this field. It also exposes students to the advances in computer concepts and various technologies at UG, PG and Ph.D. level. Various courses are being offered by the department of Computer Science & Engineering, Uttaranchal Institute of Technology to motivate the students for studies, research not only from Computer Science and Engineering, even multidisciplinary allied domains also.

M Tech Computer Science is a 2 year masters degree program that provides the student the ability to understand advanced principles of Computer Science and Engineering to solve problems and to continuously learn multidisciplinary concepts through MTech CSE Syllabus. The first two semesters include courses that cover the advanced topics of CSE. The later semesters involve studying the elective courses within domain or outside domain as open electives. Some courses covered are Distributed Systems, Advanced Computer Networks, Advanced Software Engineering, Algorithms etc. Last semester focus on Dissertation and Project work and include real world case studies and projects from different sectors of society and industry.

Career Prospects:  

A post graduate in CSE has a great career opportunity in the industry as well as in academics.  After completion of this program, students get opportunities like System Designer, Systems Analyst, and Network Analyst.  In academics, they can be an Academician or Researcher.

Eligibility:	B.Tech. /BE in CSE/IT/ECE or equivalent with a minimum of 55 percent for general category and 50 percent for SC/ST category. A good GATE score is preferred to qualify for admission.

Admission Procedure:	Candidates who have cleared GATE or other eligibility test will be given preference for admission to the programme. Other candidates will be required to appear in the Entrance Examination conducted by Uttaranchal University. Admission is based on merit computed on the basis of marks secured in qualifying examination. University also conducts interviews of all applicants before admitting the eligible candidates. Out of the total intake, 40% seats are allotted to students of Uttarakhand under the State Quota and the rest are open to students from all India. In case the allotted percentage of seats of State Quota remains vacant, it will be filled by All India students.
