Yoga session conducted for the newly inducted students of the School of Applied and Life Sciences

After the COVID Scenario, a rise in physical and mental well-being has gained importance in everyday life. In order to create awareness and boost the spirits of new students at the School of Applied and Life Sciences, Uttaranchal University, a Yoga session was conducted on 12 September 2022, for them.

The session was conducted by a team of “The Bhartiya Yog Sansthan” who follow the concept of Jeeyo aur jeene do!

The team had four members namely, Shri Shashikant Dubey, Shri Manoj Sharma, Shrimati Rajni Thapliyal, Shrimati Suman Singhal. The members of Bhartiya Yog Sansthan performed various Yoga Asanas like, Anulom VilomTadasanaVrikasanaSurya Namaskar etc. for the students and discussed the benefits of each asana. They further stated that doing Yoga can help students concentrate on their studies, reduce stress, and improve their appearance. The students enthusiastically participated in the session. The session was concluded by doing meditation.

The entire session was conducted under the guidance of Dean of SALS, Prof (Dr) Ajay Singh and coordinated by Prof (Dr) V K Srivastava. Many student volunteers helped in the conduction of the session. A vote of thanks was proposed by Prof (Dr) Bharti Ramola, Coordinator, Orientation and Induction Programme, SALS.
