April 23 is celebrated the world over as World Book Day as per the Charter of UESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). The objective behind this is to contribute to peace and security by collaborating among multiple nations through education, science and culture. This year UNESCO is observing the 10 Anniversary of the event. This year this day is being celebrated as ‘World Book and Copyright Day.
On this day The Library Club of Uttaranchal University organized a program to felicitate University faculty who have published their books that is contributing towards the enhancement of literature. On this occasion the Chief Librarian Mr. N.C.Uniyal read out the message of Director General of UNESCO Ms. Irina Bokova to all the book lovers the world over and spoke about the significance of this day.
At this occasion The Chancellor, Vice- Chancellor, Deans of all institutes of the University HODs of all departments and the faculty were present.
The Chancellor felicitated the following faculty for publications of their books:
Prof.(Dr) Raj K. Dhar, Vice Dean Academics / HOD Humanities for publishing three academic books and a novel.

- Dr Anil Dixit: Department of Law.
