World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) is celebrated from 18-24 November every year by the World Health Organization.  In this awareness drive Dr Amit Semwal, Dr Ankit Sharma and Students of B Pharm IV year conducted lectures in groups by the permission of Principals of above mentioned schools in different classes for the students of these schools to make aware all the school students with Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) occurs when bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites (microbes) no longer respond to medicines, making common infections harder to treat and increasing the risk of disease spread, severe illness and death.
Misuse and overuse of antimicrobials in humans, animals and plants are the main drivers in the development of drug-resistant infections. For example, COVID-19 is caused by a virus, not by a bacteria so antibiotics should not be used to treat a COVID infection. Principal of various schools acknowledge the efforts of Hon’ble Chancellor,  Shri Jitender Joshi.
