A one-day Workshop on ‘Quality Management’ was organized by College of Applied and Life Sciences on 2nd July, 2019 at Uttaranchal University. The aim of the one-day workshop was to glorify the scope of quality management in food and pharmaceutical industries. About 33 participants along with invited guests, faculty members and staff of UCALS attended this workshop. The programme initiated with the Welcome Speech for all the dignitaries by Dr. Nishesh Sharma (HOD, Biotechnology, UCALS).
(Prof.) Dr. Ajay Singh, in his address, welcomed all the dignitaries and participants and stated that the purpose of the workshop was to enlighten the path of participants by giving knowledge about quality management in the field of Food and Pharmaceutical Industry. He further stated the scope of food quality management and conduct a very impressive session on QMS and ISO9001.The Chief Guest of the programme Dr. Kishan Kumar congratulated all the delegates for their efforts and stated the objective of quality management in food industry. He added that with the emerging food regulations and versions of third-party audit requirements, food operators will increasingly be forced to focus on what really matters in food safety and quality management. The lecture focused on principles of food safety and quality assurance standard applicable to Indian food industries. Dr. Kumar also conducted an interactive session with the participants to answer their queries about quality management.Finally, the workshop concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Nishesh Sharma.
