Women cell, School of Agriculture, Uttaranchal University Dehradun, organized an ‘Expert Lecture’ on ‘Prevention and Control of Anaemia’ for the female students of SOA

Women cell, School of Agriculture, Uttaranchal University Dehradun, organized an ‘Expert Lecture’ on ‘Prevention and Control of Anaemia’ for the female students of SOA, on 29 November 2021 in Agriculture Block. Mrs Pallavi Ghildiyal, Assistant Professor, UIPS, Uttaranchal University, was the invited speaker for the day. The session was focused on the Prevention and Control of Anaemia in women. Mrs Pallavi Ghildiyal discussed that Anemia happens when you do not have enough red blood cells. She discussed different kinds of anemia and their reasons. Some types of anemia like iron deficiency anemia and sickle cell anemia are also discussed by the expert. Anyone can develop anemia, although Women, Children ages 1 to 2, Infants, People over 65 age have a higher risk. The expert was focused on anemia in women that is mainly due to blood loss during monthly periods and childbirth. She also discussed signs and symptoms of anemia, such as fatigue, shortness of breath and feeling cold etc. In the end, Mrs Pallavi Ghildiyal focused on a healthy diet and proper lifestyle to be followed by the girls to avoid anemia. Expert lecture was very fruitful for the female students. All the female students of the School of Agriculture (SOA) attended the expert lecture and got benefited. Dr Neha Saini, Incharge, Women Cell, SOA organized the lecture. Dr Rachna Juyal and Ms Smritilekha Majumdar, Member of Women Cell, SOA were also present during the lecture and provided their support to organize the lecture properly.
