With an intent to reinforce the cultural values and also signify the role the scriptures can play in personal and professional life, Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM), Uttaranchal University, organised a webinar on the theme of “Winning Mantras from Mahabharata” for first-year MBA students on 09 Sept 2022. This program was an endeavour to stimulate the thought process of the participants and provide them with insight into effective decision-making.
The session was held by Prof (Dr) Ankur Joshi, Professor, Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan as the Keynote Speaker on the occasion while Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Dean, UIM and faculty members, UIM were the other distinguished guests.
Dr Pradeep Suri addressed the gathering and welcomed the keynote speaker of the day and emphasized the gravity held by the cultural values for living a happy and disciplined life. He stated that management can be learnt and practiced at home too. He thanked the speaker for his willingness to take such an innovative and insightful session.
The Speaker, Dr Ankur Joshi started the session by throwing light on the essence of the topic for the day and focused on various key points during the session which were as follows:
- Dr Joshi initiated the session with the importance of identification of the Source of knowledge, the Core idea, and how it is all coupled with the process of decision-making.
- He presented the Core idea with its constituents as Purpose – Intent – Action and emphasised on the significance of taking quality decisions in life.
- With an accentuation on the National Emblem “Satyamev Jayate”, the speaker discussed the importance of Ethics and motivated the students to believe and follow the emblem.
- He further shared the ‘Ethos-based Decision Matrix’ to reflect upon taking decisions assertively. He culminated his session by saying that if one has the right knowledge, wisdom, ideas, and content then language is not a barrier for communication.
At last, the vote of thanks to all the eminent resource persons, dignitaries, technical and supportive team, and participants was proposed by Dr Rajeev Ranjan, HoD, UIM. Around 200 students attended the Webinar with full zeal and enthusiasm. The entire session was detailed and anchored by Ms Neha Rastogi, Assistant Professor, UIM.
