Uttaranchal University signs MOU with CPPRI.

Uttaranchal University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Central Pulp & Paper Research Institute (CPPRI), Sahararanpur(UP)  for collaboration and exchange programs in the field of Chemistry, Environment, & Biotechnology under the aegis of Department of Applied Science. CPPRI is a national level institute established in 1980 as an autonomous body under the administrative control of Ministry of Industry, Govt. of India and having its registered office at Saharanpur, India. It promotes R&D in the field of pulp & paper,
The MOU was signed by Prof.S.C.Joshi, Vice Chancellor of Uttaranchal University and Dr. R. K .Jain, Director of CPPRI. The other dignitaries present on this occasion were in the witness of Dr.Ajay Singh, HOD- Chemistry, Biotech and Food Technology, and Dr.A.K.Dixit, a Senior Scientist of CPPRI).

A joint Project of about Rs. 30 Lacs on “Development of Phytoremediation and Microbial Treatment Method for Pulp and Paper Industry “has been submitted to Department of Biotechnology, New Delhi. Dr. Ajay Singh is the Principal Investigator and project coordinator. Mr Rajan Sharma (Lecturer-Uttaranchal University) and Mrs Anuradha , CPPRI) are CO-PI for this project.
Students of M.Sc.(Industrial Chemistry) have been permitted to undertake training or project work in CPPRI in 2016-17 session.
