“It is an occasion to make explicit the gratitude and respect for the teachers and researchers that was so far had been implicit in the hearts of the people in the management of the Uttaranchal University”. With these words the Vice Chancellor (officiating) of the University graced the occasion of the first award ceremony to felicitate those researchers, members of faculty and trainer who had made a difference through their exemplary dedication in their work.
Monday, September 6, 2021 has become an unforgettable day in the history of Uttaranchal University as it was on this day when as many as twenty-four (24) teachers chosen from the different constituent colleges of the University, three researchers and a trainer was awarded by Hon’ble Chancellor of the University Mr. Jitender Joshi.
The selection of the awardees in the category of Best Teachers and the Trainer was done on the basis of their feedback obtained through the formal channel; while the researchers were selected on the basis of their work done in their respective areas during the previous academic session. Speaking on this occasion the Hon’ble Chancellor encouraged everyone present on the occasion through his announcement that more and more people will be included in the list of awardees in near future by expanding the selection criteria. In his address, Hon’ble Chancellor remarked that teaching is a noble profession and is incomparable with any other vocations. He further mentioned that, “This is a profession which a person opts with his voluntary will and self-inspiration”. Uttaranchal University considers its teachers and researchers as the best intellectual property. The event started with the auspicious ritual of lamp lighting and Kul Geet of the University after which all the recipients were awarded with a Memento, Letter of Appreciation and Cash Prize of Rs. One Lakh amidst the big rounds of applause. The event concluded with a vote of thanks.
