Uttaranchal University organizes workshop on “How to start Trading and why Markets are Booming while Economies are drowning”

Finance Club of Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University, organized an enrapturing a two days workshop on “How to start Trading and why Markets are Booming while Economies are Drowning” in collaboration with Bombay Stock Exchange, Mumbai, on 7th & 8th October, 2021 under the guidance of Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Dean, UIM. 

The two days workshop was addressed by well renowned industry expert Dr Priya Agrawal, senior consultant & social entrepreneur, Bombay Stock Exchange, Mumbai. She is Doctorate in Finance and MBA, distinction holder, with over 12 years of corporate work experience, and also possesses large number of reputed certifications. She has been invited as a Prominent Guest & Keynote Speaker by many renowned Universities e.g., IITs, and IIMs. As a Senior Consultant, she has been associated with best of the Multi-National Corporations over the years.

Day 1

Ms Neeti Misra, Assistant Professor & Head Finance Club UIM, Master of Ceremony, did the inauguration of two days workshop on the 7th October 2021. The day one was graced by the key note speaker, Dr Priya Agrawal, along with the Dean UIM, Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, HoD Management, Dr Megha Agarwal, and HoD Computer Application, Dr Sonal Sharma. The workshop was started with the lighting of the lamp. Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Dean UIM introduced the speaker and the topic of the lecture to the students. The workshop was addressed in detail by the key note speaker Dr Priya Agarwal. She emphasized about how to make money in stock markets and how markets work. She also explained about how to open a Demat account and how to do trading in the stock markets.

Day 2

Dr Priya Agarwal delivered an effective and interactive session on the second day of the workshop. The keynote speaker elucidated on the details of the volatility in the markets and the risks involved therein. She also talked on understanding of the timing of investments in the markets. Besides that she enlightened about the various financial instruments like mutual funds, insurance, bonds and government securities etc. The workshop was concluded with the question and answer session.

For both the days a total of 365 students, 168 on Day 1 & 197 on Day 2, participated in the event with enthusiastic participation and they also asked relevant questions from the eminent speaker.

The two days workshop concluded on a positive note with the valedictory remarks presented by Ms Neeti Misra who moderated the session over two days. Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri profusely thanked the key note speaker, participants, and the coordinators of the workshop.
