Uttaranchal University organizes three day “Uttaranchal Yuva Fest 2018”

The three-day “Uttaranchal Yuva Fest 2018” commenced in Uttaranchal University on 27th March, 2018.

The second day included in its schedule of events Nukkad Natak, Painting Exhibition & Photography Exhibition of the entries of the previous day, LAN Gaming, Finals of Basketball and Volleyball (Boys & Girls) in the Morning Session. Teams from all the constituent colleges of Uttaranchal University participated in all the events.

The Evening Session concluded the Group Dance Competition and Solo/Duet Dance Competition of the previous day. As per the schedule Uttaranchal Institute of Technology, and School of Agriculture performed for both the events. The Dance Performances were followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony wherein the student achievers of “Uttaranchal Yuva Fest 2018” were acknowledged. The prizes were distributed by Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Jitender Joshi, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi and Event Head – Uttaranchal Yuva Fest 2018 Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna (Dean – Law College Dehradun). The ceremony was anchored by Dr. Bharti Ramola. The Prize Distribution Ceremony concluded with Vote of Thanks delivered by Event Head – Uttaranchal Yuva Fest 2018 Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna.

Next on schedule was “Comedy Show” by the hilarious Ahsaan Qureshi. Ahsaan Qureshi is an Indian stand-up comedian. Qureshi is a great stage performer for the last 20 years. He is the 2005 runner-up of ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’. Most of his jokes focus on political satire and social issues.

The day concluded with the Star Performance by Indo- Kiwi Star Performer Shirley Setia,
a graduate student from the University of Auckland and marketing and publicity intern at Auckland Council. She discovered her passion for music over YouTube on a whim, when she took part in a contest conducted by T-Series. She was declared as one of the winners from thousands of entries. ‘Forbes’ magazine’s Rob Cain wrote a feature on her and her future goals recently in which he stated that “Bollywood’s Next Big Singing Sensation Just Might Be This Tiny Kiwi”. She was also acknowledged as India’s YouTube Sensation by the ‘Hindustan Times’ and as one of New Zealand’s biggest international artists by TVNZ.
