On 10th December 2017, Uttaranchal University, organized a Poster Making Competition on Human Rights Day. Students as many as hundred in number and the Faculty Members of the university participated with great enthusiasm. The theme for the competition was “Standup for Human Rights”. The main objective of organizing Poster Competition was to create awareness and teach students about human rights and to create interest and promote the idea of Human rights among the new generation. Throughout this competition information was disseminated on various issues and important documents like the universal declaration of human rights specifically the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). The students expressed their ideas through color and form, many of them had made posters displaying messages on how human values are under attack.
It was delightful to watch these young minds trying to create their ideas for the protection of human rights and draw it on paper. Everyone gave their best. Dr. V. K. Srivastava said that we must all be aware of the human rights as this is about the integrity and respect of individual human life.
