Uttaranchal University was greeted with a laudable appreciation and a certificate of recognition by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for galvanizing Maximum Participation in the SEBI’s Nationwide Financial Market Quiz to commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence under the celebratory auspices of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean of Law College Dehradun, Professor Rajesh Bahuguna along with two Students, Sambhav Bhatt and Jatin Pal participated and received the award on behalf of Uttaranchal University. The Quiz was predicated on strengthening financial literacy, underscoring the importance of economic awareness, and creating a financially emboldened citizenry. The event went underway on July 23-24, 2022, witnessing a raft of high-octane competitions each day at the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM), Patalganga, Mumbai, Maharashtra. On the final day, Shri G P Garg, Executive Director, SEBI, gave the welcome address, followed by the special address by Shri Ashwani Bhatia, Whole Time Member, SEBI. Ms Madhabi Puri Buch gave the Inaugural and Keynote address, Chairperson, SEBI, who graced the event with her virtual presence. The competition saw earth-shattering footfalls having participation from every institution of educational prominence throughout the nook and corner of the country, including the center of excellence in IITs and IIMs. It was a moment to behold with sheer pride, resilient effort, and resounding motivation when Uttaranchal University bagged the certificate for contributing the Maximum Participation in the competition from any university. Indeed, a watershed moment and the proverbial adding of a scintillating feather in the cap of Uttaranchal University to wholeheartedly contribute to the carnival of financial education celebrated alongside the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
