Uttaranchal University celebrates 74th Independence Day

The 74th Independence Day was celebrated with great respect and enthusiasm in Uttaranchal University strictly following the issued instructions and guidelines. 

Hon’ble Director – Development and Planning, Uttaranchal University Shri. Jagdish Joshi expressed gratitude to the National Heroes for their supreme sacrifice and offered flowers on the pedestal of the reverend “Wall of Heroes”. He presided over the function after inspecting the ‘Guard of Honor’ presented by the Security Guards of the University. To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation he unfurled the tricolor flag and all in unison sang the National Anthem followed by Vande Mataram and expressed the joy of freedom. 

Hon’ble Director – Development and Planning, Uttaranchal University Shri. Jagdish Joshi addressed the limited gathering and expressed his reverence towards the warriors who won us our independence. He stated that due to the pandemic many restrictions have to be strictly followed while celebrating Independence Day this year. He further added that though the celebrations and cultural programmes are being strongly missed by all – the spirit of freedom, peace and unity in diversity along with love and respect for the nation remains the same. He asserted that one and all should observe the day in the safety of their house, maintain all social distancing and safety guidelines and keep themselves and the community safe. He established that this would be the true spirit of Independence Day 2020.

The program concluded with Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Nakoti, Estate Officer and distribution of sweets. 

Let us all be proud of our beloved nation. We all have to collectively strive to make India vibrant, strong and supreme.
