Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences celebrated “National Safety Week”

Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences celebrated “National Safety Week” an awareness program under the banner of Pharmacology Club in collaboration with Shivalik Institute of Ayurved and Research on 8th March 2022. The program was organized to celebrate the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsava” launched by the Central Government. The objectives of the program are:

  1. Disease Prevention and Health Promotion
  2. To enhance our immunity through the AYUSH system.
  3. Promotion of traditional food practices (Vocal for Local)
  4. Awareness about Ayurveda, Yoga and Medication.

AYUSH:The term AYUSH stands for Ayurveda, Yoga-Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy system of medicines. The Government of India, AYUSH Ministry, has recommended AYUSH Kwath and other Ayurvedic drugs to improve the immunity, to control COVID-19 and other various infections faced by us in day to day life.

The speakers of the day were Dr Sanadan Thapliyal, MD (Ay) Professor and Dr Anjali Pant, MD (Ay) Professor. Prof (Dr) Vikash Jakhmola felicitated the guest with a bundle of love which was followed by a welcome note. The session was quite informative for the students. Ms Aditi Kestwal, a student of B Pharm (IV) year, hosted the event wonderfully. She invited questions from the audience at the end of Session. The session was very particularly about “Disease Prevention and Health Promotion”. The vote of thanks was proposed by event coordinator Mrs Pallavi Ghildiyal.
