Uttaranchal Institute of Management, under the aegis of Uttaranchal University, paid tribute to Mahatama Gandhi on 30th June, 2021, the Martyrs’ Day, under the able leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri (Director-UIM).The activity was graced by the presence of Dr. Amitabh Bhargava HOD – Management and the Faculty Members of UIM.
Every year, Shaheed Diwas or Martyrs’ Day is observed on 30 January in India. This day marks the death anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, or Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi was shot dead at the age of 78 on January 30, 1948. He was assassinated by Nathuram Godse in Birla House during his evening prayers. In his memory, the government of India declared January 30 as Martyrs’ Day to honour soldiers who laid down their lives for the freedom, welfare, and progress of India.
