With an objective to educate young students regarding the significance of teamwork in raising awareness about a healthy and hygienic environment in public spaces, Globe Club of Uttaranchal Institute of Management conducted “Shram Daan” activity on October 1, 2021.
This activity was conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri (Dean-UIM), with the support of Dr. Megha Aggarwal (HOD-Management), Dr. Sonal Sharma (HOD-Computer Applications), Mr. Manish Baduni (HOD- Hotel Management).
It was executed with the coordinated efforts of all the Globe Club Members, namely- Mr. Rohit Dhiman (Head-Globe Club), Dr. Mayank Pant, Ms. Sonakshi Bhatia, Dr. Sunil Shukla, Mr. Deepak Kumar Tyagi, and Dr. Sangeeta Sundriyal.
The activity was conducted in the form of a cleanliness drive at Dehradun Railway Station and was executed in collaboration with ‘Jai-Youth Wing Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Sewa Samiti’ with the active support of Shri Vinayak Sharma (President, Jai-Youth Wing Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Sewa Samiti) and his team-members.
Student volunteers from different programmes of UIM, Uttaranchal University participated in this activity with huge enthusiasm by clearing the litter lying around in platforms, waiting rooms and other areas of the railway station. They collected a substantial amount of garbage including plastic bottles, leftover food items, empty wrappers and polythene bags dumped hap hazardously.
This activity received a huge success as more than fifty enthusiastic participants worked together for the betterment of society.
