Uttaranchal Institute of Management organizes an Industrial Visit to Anchor Panasonic, Haridwar

An Industrial Visit was organized by Uttaranachal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University on 22nd November, 2019 for MBA students to Anchor Panasonic, Haridwar. The visit was conceptualized and conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.)Pradeep Suri (Director – UIM). The visit was coordinated by Dr.Anshul Sharma (HOD-Management) and Mr.Farman Ali (Assistant Professor, UIM). An Industrial Visit has its own significance in the career of a student pursuing a professional programme. The purpose of the visit was to provide students an insight regarding internal working of company.

Ms.Sakshi Chauhan (HR Manager, Panasonic) was the Resource Person. She briefed about Anchor Panasonic, one of India’s leading manufacturers of electrical construction materials. A movie on the Company was also played in their Conference Hall. She informed that with the advancement and accessibility of technology, there has been a growing demand for new-age electrical appliances.
Ms.Ruchi (Asst. Manager, Panasonic) delivered a short presentation on the history of Panasonic which started its operations in India in the year 1972. In 2008, Panasonic India Pvt. Ltd was formed to integrate the different Panasonic interests in India. Since then, Panasonic has been on an upward growth path in the country with innovative product offerings, increased investments on business and various promotional initiatives.

Mr.Dinesh (Quality Control Manager, Panasonic) discussed regarding their advertising campaign and highlighted how Anchor Panasonic’s superior product offerings are designed to meet new India’s growing demand for new-age electrical appliances.

Mr. Maninder Singh (Production Manager, Panasonic) stated in his presentation how Anchor Panasonic’s wires and cables are built with high current-carrying capacity that safeguards all connected devices and heavy appliances even during prolonged usage. Anchor by Panasonic’s MCBs are made with the fastest trip mechanism which ensures the timely protection of connected appliances and homes from overloads, short circuits, and leakage current.

Mr. Ravi Tyagi (Store Manager) briefed about the inventory management system of the company. They categorized material on the basis of their different colors and code numbers given by the company.

Technical Sessions were followed by an Interactive Session during which students raised their queries related to prevailing career opportunities in the field of production, marketing and human resource management. The visit proved to be a great learning experience for the students not only on technical front, but also created awareness about opportunities in different areas and how to grab these opportunities. Students expressed their gratitude towards Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri, Director (UIM) for providing them with opportunities beyond academics to enhance their knowledge and technical skills.
