The Globe Club (Global Learning and Observation to Benefit the Environment Club) of Uttaranchal Institute of Management organized an Awareness Campaign on “Prevention and Control of Covid-19” on 5th February, 2020 under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri (Director-UIM).
Dr. Anshul Sharma (HOD – Management) and Dr. Sonal Sharma (HOD – IT) graced the occasion by their benign presence. The activity was supervised by Mr. Rohit Dhiman (Head – Globe Club), along with the members of Globe Club, namely, Dr. Deepa Bisht, Dr. Monisha Awasthi, Dr. SangeetaSundriyal, Ms. Anu Suyal, Dr. Mayank Pant.
The objective of the event was tomake people aware that one of the ways to protect against and combat this deadly contagious disease is wearing masks. People are encouraged to wash hands frequently, use antiseptics to clean household items and sanitizers outside home, wear masks in public places, avoid meeting people with colds and coughs, observe physical distance, avoid crowded places, and stay home as much as possible. It was also communicated to people to refrain from shaking hands, kissing, and hugging for the safety of their loved ones, family members, and the broader community, as these measures will help us defeat this global pandemic. Masks and Sanitizer sachets are also distributed to low grade staff members of the university.
Mr. Rohit Dhiman (Head – Globe Club) conducted this campaign through the trained students of various courses of UIM. Around 115 students participated in the campaign walk.Such activities strengthen the emotional and mental health of the students and ignite the feelings of compassion towards the welfare and development of the society.
