In continuation with its resolution to educate young students, GLOBE Club of Uttaranchal Institute of Management conducted the next two phases of the ‘ShikshaDaan’ Activity on 2nd and 29th November 2019 in ‘Akhil Bhartiya Mahila Ashram’, Dehradun.
The activity was conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri (Director, UIM) and was executed with the coordinated efforts of GLOBE Club Members, namely, Mr. Rohit Dhiman, Mr. Mayank Pant, Dr. Sangeeta Sundriyal, Ms. Anu Suyal, Dr. Deepa Bisht and Dr. Monisha Awasthi with support from Mr. Ravindra Singh Rawat (In charge – Cultural and Academic Events).
It was conducted in collaboration with a Dehradun-based NGO ‘Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Sewa Samiti’ with an active support extended by Shri. Vinayak Sharma (President, Jai Youth Wing of the Society), his team-members and the Principal of the school.
On 2nd November 2019, the student volunteers of UIM interacted with the school students and conducted a classroom interaction on the topic, ‘Women Empowerment’. This activity aimed to enlighten the young female students about women rights, different perspectives on career development and women safety. For the final phase of the activity, conducted on 29th November 2019, the student volunteers carried out a classroom activity to teach different contemporary dance steps to the young students followed by a session on physical exercises.
